Juan Cortina was the people’s hero who stood up for the less fortunate in the society, he was the voice of the voiceless. Even though he used violent means he fought the authorities for mistreating Mexicans who lived in southwest of America during the colonial period. Cortina deserves to be talked about more often because many Latinos today in America are enjoying rights and equality that were advocated by him. Juan Seguin on the other hand also fought the authorities in form Santa Anna, for creating inequality and taking land from the Mexicans.
